As artist and owner, Dee Cunningham specializes in murals, artistic finishes, decorative painting, and trompe l’oeil.
Cunningham began drawing at an early age, a talent that was discovered and nurtured by her Grandmother who happened to be an elementary school art teacher. Cunningham graduated from Towson University in 2000 where she received a Bachelors of Science in Art Education, Cum Laude. She has studied fine art at Pratt Institute, Maryland College of Art and Design, and McDaniel College. As an undergraduate she was able to study and experience living abroad in Florence, Italy
Cunningham has studied with some of the industry’s top artists, including Shared Vision non-profit founder William Cochran. Cunningham was hand selected by Cochran, with only six other artists from the country, to work on a five-story public art piece in Historic Frederick Maryland. Her work will be featured on HGTV's “My Big Amazing Renovation.” Cunningham constantly maintains her creative edge, taking classes and adding new and exciting finishes as well as developing her artistic eye with portraits, landscapes, still lifes, and more.
Cunningham has worked with clients all across Maryland as well as Virginia and Pennsylvania. She has worked in private residences, businesses, and local restaurants. Deelite Design perpetuates a reputation for professionalism, dependability, reliability, excellent client service, and supreme craftsmanship. Her work has been seen and talked about in “The Baltimore Sun”, “The Country Chronicle”, “Baltimore Magazine”, “Carroll Magazine”, “Carroll County Times”, “Grapevine Magazine”, “Slate” online magazine, and “The View” Newspapers. Cunningham has also worked in several local annual decorator show houses.
When she is not painting, Cunningham enjoys mountain biking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
