My love for painting began when I was 10 years old, in my Aunt’s basement where she taught me oil painting. As I grew, I studied under other artists, including 3 years as a Fine Art major at Pratt Institute, in Brooklyn NY. For many years I did whatever I could to work in the arts, including portraiture, logo design, and designing silk screens for a t-shirt company.
More than 15 years ago I was asked to paint a holiday window at a local Barber Shop. Soon afterward I started to paint murals, then I learned some finishes and stenciling techniques. About 10 years ago I was able to devote myself full time to Decorative Arts, and have found great joy and satisfaction bringing beauty into peoples homes and businesses.
I have been involved in 5 Designer Show Houses over the last 8 years, all for charitable causes. My work has been published many times in Local Newspapers, like The Daily Record and The Independent Press. I was happy to be featured in Small Spaces Magazine and Design NJ. Two of my Show house rooms were also published in a book entitled Showhouse Review, An Expose of Interior Decorating Events, written by Tina Skinner, and published in 2008.
About 4 years ago I moved to a dead end street, so I finally found a name for my Mural Business. I call it Lane’s End Decorative Arts.
