Learn To Faux Finish At Schools Throught The United States. Decorative Painting Technique, Venetian Plaster, Glazing and Trompe Loeil
Tania Seabock

Tania Seabock is best known for her intricate ceiling patterns of gold mosaics and geometric patterns. They are all done by hand and take months to complete. She comes from a long lineage of artists and science types. She follows in the footsteps of her great grandfather who was a gilder and church muralist in Chile.

Tania has always painted and sculpted as far as she can remember. Although she wanted to study art in college, she wasn't allowed by her family. So she chose to study her next passion: Mathematics and Biology at the American University in Washington DC. She always had art projects going on at all times.

After her studies at American University she moved to San Francisco, CA. At this time she wasn't sure what to do with her life. She always had a curiosity in Mortuary Science. So she decided to go back to school for a Mortuary Science degree in Embalming and Funeral science. She worked as a Mortician for 4 years, but once again kept up with her art on the side. In 1998 she quit her career as a Mortician to pursue a Career in Art. She began her art career in moldmaking and casting. This was just her stepping stone to the world of Decorative Painting, Gilding and Restoration.

In 2001 Tania left San Francisco and moved back to the Washington DC area. There she started her own business as a Decorative Painter and Architectural gilder. She now focuses her skills on ceiling design, architectural gilding, wood grain and marble. She also does restoration of marble and ornamental plaster. She has had many prestigious commissions. Some works include Prince of UAE in Washington DC and Trump Tower in NYC.

Tania graduated from the Nadai-Verdon School of decorative painting in France where she studied wood grain and marble with Michel Nadai.

Her works are published in various magazines. She was a featured artist in the project called "The House that Faux Built" which became a publish book by Adrienne Van Dooren. She also has three how-to DVD's filmed by Creative Evolution www.fauxwarehouse.com. She is a moderator on www.FauxForum.com which is an active forum for Decorative Painters, Faux Finishers, Muralists, Plasterers and Gilders. Tania has taught at the SALI Convention (www.sali.org) in 2007. She was Vice-President of the SALI Chapter of Washington DC called CADA (Capital Area Decorative Artisans) in 2006. And she is also a proud member of Society of Gilders and SALI.

She currently lives in the San Francisco bay area with her husband Ian and their identical twin boys Roman and Elijah Seabock.
